After pulling out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement, the newly elected President of U.S.A. – Mr. Donald Trump – has announced the need to adopt a trade policy that is ‘fairer’ to U.S. markets. He pointed out that U.S. has opened its markets to all countries, but still not received a reciprocal or equally fair treatment. Hence, he intends to adopt a more aggressive ‘economic nationalism’ policy that is also beneficial to U.S. exporters.
