Israel has emerged as one of India’s biggest trade partners particularly in the supply of military equipment. As the First Israeli Prime Minister to arrive in India in 15 long years, Benjamin Netanyahu talked about how the relations between the two countries has seen a significant change in the recent past; “We have had diplomatic relations for 25 years, but something different is happening now.” The two countries signed 9 agreements in areas of oil and gas exploration, cyber security and space.
The countries will now explore the possibilities of a free trade deal as a delegation from the commerce ministry will be visiting Israel next month for deliberations upon this deal.
